Another month down and big garden updates. So much growing and so much change. It has been so exciting watching our little garden grow and I am excited to bring you my second garden update. (Here is the start of the garden and here is update #1.)
We moved our containers away from the house and they are now all in line with the handful of plants that were thrown into the ground. Our tomatoes are doing awesomely and we had our first harvest a few days ago. It was only two cherry tomatoes. But boy were they super cute and we were super proud of successfully growing tomatoes. There are a couple almost ready to picked and several more on their way.
We officially have peppers growing now too. Can’t wait for those to get big and ready to pick. Mr. H decided to ditch a couple of the tomato plants that weren’t producing and now we have zucchini squash plants starting to come up in those containers. And we had a couple of extra pots which now have bush beans and purple wax beans in them. The purple beans have started producing tiny little beans which is also super exciting!
The flowers C and I bought from the strawberry farm are doing fantastic! Also, the randomly planted seeds C had from school have taken off. They are nearly taking over my raised bed next to the flowers. I still have no idea what they are, but I’m looking forward to see what happens as they keep growing.
The watermelons were successfully planted and their vines are growing nicely. We will start germinating our pumpkin seeds this weekend. I’m really excited about the pumpkins as the pumpkin I tried to grow last year failed miserably. Oops!
The hanging plant is doing fantastically, though I haven’t taken a new picture of it, apologies. And C’s sunflowers have been transplanted into the ground in front of our house. I’m a little nervous about the sunflowers. I hope they make it.
